Oracle to acquire Siebel for USD 5.85bn

Tuesday, September 13, 2005 US-based Oracle Corporation announced earlier today that they are buying rival US-based Siebel Systems for $10.66 USD per share. Siebel shareholders have the option to receive the $10.66 per share in cash or in Oracle stock. This deal is valued at approximately $5.85 billion USD. Siebel Systems' Board of Directors has already voted in favour of the acquisition. Founder Thomas Siebel has also given his support. At least nine missing after Russian military plane crashes into Pacific

Saturday, November 7, 2009 A Russian military plane crashed today in the Pacific Ocean. At least nine are missing after the turboprop went down in the Strait of Tartary, which is located in the far east of the country. The Tupolev Tu-142 maritime reconnaissance/anti-submarine aircraft, which is based on the Tu-95 strategic bomber, was reported by RIA Novosti as carrying "at least nine people" according to an unnamed military source. Saturday, March 21, 2009 New Jersey has reversed its plans for a state-wide ban on bikini waxing after salon owners from across the state spoke out against the proposal.
