Dungeons & Dragons co-creator Dave Arneson dies

Friday, April 10, 2009 Dave Arneson, co-creator of the first roleplaying game, Dungeons and Dragons, died on Tuesday of cancer, at the age of 61. A close friend of Arneson, Bob Meyer, reported on April 5 that he had taken a turn for the worse and was admitted to a hospital. Family later confirmed that he was in a facility "where we can focus on keeping him comfortable." Reported at that time, the doctor indicated that he had days to live. Friday, April 15, 2005 The last British-owned volume car manufacturer, MG Rover, has closed down, with the loss of 5,000 jobs. International accounting firm PriceWaterhouseCooper was brought in last week to put the company into administration. Today PwC announced that MG Rover's only hope, the Chinese car company SAIC, had no interest in buying the ailing firm. With no further source of revenue, PwC has closed the company's factory in Longbridge, Birmingham and has laid off 5,000 workers. Thursday, April 24, 2008 In a unanimous 95-0 vote Thursday, the United States Senate passed a bill that would forbid employers and health insurance companies from discriminating against someone based on information learned through genetic testing.
